Performance: Black Quantum Futurism
BAK invites you for a special performance on Saturday 23 November 2019, by interdisciplinary creative collective Black Quantum Futurism.
Black Quantum Futurism is a Philadelphia based interdisciplinary creative practice between musician, poet and activist Camae Ayewa aka Moor Mother and artist, author and activist Rasheedah Philips. The duo explores the intersections of imagination, fiction, creative media, DIY-aesthetics, and activism through the lens of Afrofuturist thought to reorient perceptions of the past and present.
For this performance, Camae Ayewa and Rasheedah Philips combine spoken word poetry and live music to activate portals toward alternative temporalities. The event is the culmination of Training XV: Community Futurisms taking place from the 20 – 22 November 2019 as part of Trainings for the Not-Yet (14 September 2019 – 12 January 2020)
