Amelia
Groom
writer and art historian
Amelia Groom is a writer and art historian. She is currently working on a collection of essays on the politics of silence, as well as on a long-term project on gossip and rumour as queer-feminist epistemologies. Her writing has been published in e-flux journal, frieze, Art Agenda, The Contemporary Journal, Another Gaze, and X-TRA, among others. She teaches in the Critical Studies Department at Sandberg Instituut, Amsterdam. From 2018 to 2020, she was a postdoctoral fellow at ICI Berlin Institute for Cultural Inquiry, Berlin and she currently holds a research position at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen. She edited TIME (2013), a volume about alternatives to linear models of time in the Documents of Contemporary Art series published by Whitechapel Gallery and MIT Press. She is also the author of the book Beverly Buchanan: Marsh Ruins (2021) published by Afterall Books and MIT Press. She lives and works in Berlin.
