{"id":14411,"date":"2019-01-15T08:02:19","date_gmt":"2019-01-15T07:02:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archive2.bakonline.org\/?p=14411"},"modified":"2025-08-25T12:10:54","modified_gmt":"2025-08-25T10:10:54","slug":"the-wind-egg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive2.bakonline.org\/nl\/2019\/01\/15\/fellow\/the-wind-egg\/","title":{"rendered":"The Wind Egg"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>From 15 September 2018\u20136 January 2019 BAK Fellow Haseeb Ahmed has had a solo show <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.muhka.be\/programme\/detail\/1247-in-situ-haseeb-ahmed-the-wind-egg\">IN SITU: Haseeb Ahmed \u2013 The Wind Egg<\/a><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.muhka.be\/programme\/detail\/1247-in-situ-haseeb-ahmed-the-wind-egg\"> <\/a>as part of the In Situ series at M HKA, Antwerp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">For millennia ancient Egyptian, Aran, Indian, European, and Chinese cultures have conceptualized the wind egg, suggesting that the wind can fertilize animals and people. Ahmed worked with this idea with state-of-the-art&nbsp;wind tunnel technology&nbsp;at Von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics, Belgium. He blends art and aeronautics, myth, and technology, personifying the wind and reflecting the human capacity to project empathetic sensibilities onto inhuman things.
