{"id":46191,"date":"2023-10-19T09:59:44","date_gmt":"2023-10-19T07:59:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archive2.bakonline.org\/?post_type=person&#038;p=46191"},"modified":"2023-10-19T09:59:54","modified_gmt":"2023-10-19T07:59:54","slug":"marlon-lacsamana","status":"publish","type":"person","link":"https:\/\/archive2.bakonline.org\/nl\/person\/marlon-lacsamana\/","title":{"rendered":"Marlon Lacsamana"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Marlon Toledo Lacsamana is a Filipino activist and academ<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ic <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">based in the Netherlands.\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">He is currently serving as <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ecretary-<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">g<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">eneral <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">of<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> BAYAN Europe, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">one of the chapters of a global alliance of\u202fleft-wing\u202fPhilippine organizations. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Prior to that, he was the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ecretary <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">g<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">eneral at Migrante Europe<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> and vice president of external affairs at Migrante Netherlands, both branches of an organization that defends the rights of overseas foreign workers from the Philippines.<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"none\">He<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"none\">also <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">co-founde<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Philippine LGBT Hate Crime Watch. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Lacsamana\u2019s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> passion for advocacy <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">is<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> fueled by personal experiences of discrimination and the tragic loss of friends to hate crimes.
