Bringing together mathematicians \ud83e\uddee, technologists \ud83d\udcf1, dancers \ud83d\udd7a\ud83c\udffc, and designers \u270d\ud83c\udffc, they have built tools \ud83e\uddf0 for anti-fascism, been political consultants for socialists in Latin America, and made an AI \ud83e\udd16 that learns to be thankful \ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffd.<\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Ray\u00e9n Jara Mitrovich<\/span><\/b> is a Chilean performance artist \ud83c\udfa8 and researcher \ud83d\udcd6 whose work focuses on intimacy, bodies, and their interaction with technology \ud83e\uddbf. <\/span>Jo Jara Kroese<\/span><\/b> is a British-Dutch mathematician and technologist \ud83e\uddd1\u200d\ud83d\udcbb.\u202f<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Their fellowship research, \ud83e\udd1d\ud83c\udffd <\/span>Holding Hands Through Machines Made to Chop Off Hands<\/span><\/i>, investigates digital labor \u2692\ufe0f, focused on the Mechanical Turk platform. Through the limited communication possible \ud83e\udd10 within the platform, they will intervene the distance \ud83d\udccf between the worker and the contractor \ud83e\udd11, and explore how to recover human connection \ud83e\uddd1\ud83c\udffd\u200d\ud83e\udd1d\u200d\ud83e\uddd1\ud83c\udffd\ud83d\udc6c\ud83c\udfff in a space named after people pretending to be robots \ud83e\udd14. Can they subvert this space \ud83d\udca5 to create art, build unions, and make friendships? \u2764\ufe0f\u200d\ud83d\udd25\u202f<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
