KSU X Basic Activist Kitchen: Rojava – Kurdish autonomous region

On 19 December 2019, Kritische Studenten Utrecht (KSU) and the Basic Activist Kitchen invite you to an evening of information and discussion on the Rojava region and its resistance against fascist oppression.
The event will focus on alternative living practices of the region, centered around self-organization, self-determination and gender equality; and the current situation in the autonomous region, defined by its ongoing struggle against jihadist groups and ethnic cleansing perpetrated by the Turkish state.

19.30 A talk by the Rojava Solidarity Platform NL, as part of a united international campaign of many initiatives showing solidarity through action #RiseUp4Rojava
20.30 A workshop to consider applied practices of alternative living, and the change they can bring to our communities
There will be food to share during the event, as part of the Basic Activist Kitchen.

– Renée In der Maur: Short history of Rojava, ideology and organisational structure within Rojava, personal experiences
– Serda Nehirci, Partizan: What is happening now in Rojava, how does that impact the future of the revolution
– Vera Onipchenko, Revolutionaire Eenheid: examples of international solidarity actions and organisational structures within Europe
