Tariq Ali is a writer, journalist, filmmaker, and activist. He has been a prominent figure in the international left since the 1960s, when he first became involved in student politics while at Oxford University, most notably within the Vietnam Solidarity Campaign. He is a regular contributor to magazines and newspapers such as The Guardian, the London Review of Books, and CounterPunch, as well as a long-standing editor of the New Left Review.
