Tentoonbazen

Exhibition

From 15 April 2016, BAK hosts a temporary exhibition, entirely developed by fourth-year pupils from the pre-university Oosterlicht College in Nieuwegein.

Supported by their own Arts and Art History teachers, an educator from the BAK team, and two visual artists, the pupils put themselves in the positions of artists, curators, producers, and other roles in an art institution, in order to experience the process leading up to an exhibition from start to finish.

In two exhibition projects, they focus on questions of identity, migration, and the Dutch relationship to asylum seekers and refugee shelters.

Usufructuaries of earth
Chapter one: exhibition

The exhibition foregrounds the artist’s collaborative approach to bringing together ecological, feminist, and decolonial knowledges and practices that put forward ideologies of usufruct, unhinging property-relations from the idiom of individuated possession and toward forms of common userships between humans and other-than-humans.
