As part of the exhibition To Seminar, BAK organizes a series of performances, talks, and public meetings inquiring how learning about, with, and through art can become a collective practice of thinking and acting out imaginaries alternative to those of the crises-ridden contemporary.
On Thursday 18 May 2017 BAK organizes Campus, a series of performances, talks, and public meetings that emerges from Sarah Pierce’s ongoing interest in the college campus as a space of community predicated on shifting levels of presence and participation. This performance has been developed from a workshop that was conducted with a group of DAI students in the presence of an audience. As the group learns the performance, the techniques of teaching, learning, and observation merge with other acts that involve “seeing” and “doing.”
