The eighth training as part of Trainings for the Not-Yet is with Homebaked Community Land Trust (CLT) (Britt Jurgensen), De Nieuwe Meent (Selçuk Balamir), de Kasko (Joska Ottjes), Refugee Collective We Are Here, Ethel Baraona Pohl,  Cristina Gamboa and Irene Calabuch Miron. It takes place from 16-20 October 2019 (Wednesday-Sunday). The training consists of discussions, exchange, and cooking.

How to undo—and then get rid of—a model in which housing has become a commodity? Decommodifying Housing: How to Get There? is a training in which different collectives that work toward radical alternatives of making housing livable, affordable, and egalitarian share their experiences and strategies. In the context of a housing crisis that presents itself on an international scale, participants work together on identifying the commonalities of various local struggles, aiming to form alliances and start a process of mutual learning.

What can be done to shape a post-capitalistic housing model? Nurturing solidarity and cooperation, and shaping space through relationships and relationships through architecture: these are priorities for such an undertaking—but where to start? During four days of discussion and exchange, this training aims to develop a collaborative public document to share accumulated insights, in order not only to strengthen the projects of those involved, but also plant the seeds of future understanding and collaboration.

Usufructuaries of earth
Chapter one: exhibition

The exhibition foregrounds the artist’s collaborative approach to bringing together ecological, feminist, and decolonial knowledges and practices that put forward ideologies of usufruct, unhinging property-relations from the idiom of individuated possession and toward forms of common userships between humans and other-than-humans.
